2007-2008
- Sharing ideas for inquiry-based science activities that prepare
students for not only the end-of-grade test, but to get them ready for
success in lab-based science courses in high school and beyond. - Two members of our PLC will present ideas at the North Carolina Middle
School Conference in Greensboro in March, funded in large part by a
grant from the ASU/Public School Partnership.
2006-2007
- Preparing middle school science teachers for the coming state-mandated
science end-of-grade test. this included: test pre materials from both
NCDPI and text book publishers - Identifying inquiry-based science resources available to partnership
schools through ASU. Several instructors from the Science Department
shared what they have available for middle school science classrooms
both at the ASU campus and that they can bring to individual
partnershipschools.
